What is MyHome101?

MyHome101 is a Web based service that provides existing and prospective home owners with general construction guidelines, and easy access to professional assistance. The project began with a section on home construction and renovation, a step-by-step list inspired by the questions we as architects are asked most frequently. For those seeking more than guidelines, we provide you with access to the right professionals in your area. We've included a section to help you understand the materials and products that will go into your home, guidelines for reading and understanding blueprints, and a review of contemporary and historic home styles.

This is an on-going project and still in its younger stages. Currently on the planning table is a section on Smart Home Technology as well as monthly featured articles and products. Feel free to explore the sections we have built thus far and be sure to stop by often as the site matures.

Who is behind this endeavor?

The founders of this project are Ron Stevenson and Keith Bettencourt. Ron and Keith worked together for an architectural firm in Providence, Rhode Island. They were inspired by the questions most frequently asked to them as design professionals. The original idea of providing a seminar to address these questions evolved into a Web-based resource that could be accessed by anyone. MyHome101 has evolved in many ways and will continue to do so.

Ron Stevenson Jr.

Ron Stevenson Jr. has been working in the Architectural field since 1985. Below is a list of his qualifications.

• Graduate of the Boston Architectural Center (1994)
• Registered Architect in the state of Rhode Island since 1998
• Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 2001
• LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional since 2005
• Board member of ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) ACE is a mentoring program for inner city students teaching them about the different professions and assisting them with thier education.
• Part time instructor at the New England Institute of Technology, teaching residential Architecture classes.

Keith Bettencourt

Keith Bettencourt has been working in the Architectural field since 1998. Below is a list of his qualifications.

• Graduate of the Roger Williams University (1998)
• Currently the Director of Retail Design at BKA Architects, Inc.
• Has completed over 50 residential projects in Massachusettes and Rhode Island.
